Rural Stress Support Team

Despite the beauty and tranquility of the English countryside, those living in rural communities face unique pressures. Many people feel isolated and vulnerable for a host of reasons;

  • lack of services and facilities
  • poor public transport
  • reducing employment opportunities
  • decline in the farming industry

Such pressures lead to worry and anxiety, which in turn can translate into stress. Stress can be part of a normal response to the pressures of every day life, however for some people, stress can turn into depression and long term illness.

Some signs of stress
