Student Housing Provision in Lougborough SPD

This Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) will develop and expand upon Local Plan policies for the provision of and control of housing for students set out in the adopted Borough of Charnwood Local Plan.

We have now adopted the SPD (Stage 5).

Stage 1

Evidence Gathering.

Stage 2

Pre – Consultation. Informal involvement of local communities and stakeholders in the development of policy.

Stage 3

Public Participation 1 – A formal 6 week consultation was undertaken during February/March 2005 on a draft version of the SPD which outlined 6 options.

Stage 3a

Consideration of Representations with regard to the draft SPD and decision of a preferred option. July 2005.

Stage 3b

Public Participation 2 – A formal 4 week consultation will be undertaken on the draft SPD setting out the preferred option. October 2005.

Stage 4

Consideration of Representations with regard to the draft SPD and finalising of SPD. November 2005.

Stage 5

Adoption of the SPD. December 2005.

Monitoring and Review.

Stage 5 - Adoption

The Council adopted the Student Housing Provision in Loughborough SPD on 16th December 2005. So, it is a material consideration in determining planning applications. A copy of the adopted SPD is available to download:
