Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles

Taxis and taxi drivers are licenced by Charnwood Borough Council.

Hackney cabs are licenced to pick passengers up on request - this means they can pick up passengers at recognised taxi ranks or when hailed on the the street. Private Hire vehicles (minicabs) may only be prebooked - this means they can't wait at taxi ranks or stop to pick up passengers when hailed in the street.
