Charnwood Borough Council commissioned consultants MVA to prepare more detailed Transport Assessments to provide a better understanding of the broad transport implications of the various options for Sustainable Urban Extensions north of Leicester and around Loughborough. The Assessments were prepared in partnership with the Highway Authorities, Highway Agency and key stakeholders and are based on the Central Leicestershire Transport Model and an upgraded Loughborough Traffic Model (creating a full multi-modal model for Loughborough).

First are a set of summary notes highlighting the key findings of MVA's transport assessments for all the potential locations for Sustainable Urban Extensions currently being considered. These are based on MVA's full reports for Loughborough (August 2009) and South Charnwood (April 2009).

Charnwood Transport Assessment, September 2008

In 2008 Charnwood Borough Council commissioned consultants MVA to undertake a Charnwood Transport Assessment. This includes an assessment of the broad transport implications of potential growth options that could help meet known needs for housing and employment related development in the period to 2026. The assessment will form a key part of the evidence base for the Local Development Framework.
