What will the Benefits Service do for landlords?

  • Make payments every 4 weeks, in arrears, as long as the tenant is entitled
  • Notify a landlord, promptly, if there has been an overpayment
  • Advise the landlord if the tenant has asked for direct payments to stop
  • Discuss the tenant's claim, if the tenant gives written permission for us to do so.

The benefit service will, where ever possible, work with landlords to ensure the correct amount of benefit is being paid regularly to reduce the risk of arrears.  Limited information can only be provided to landlords if they are receiving payments direct.
