Area Youth Games

The Youth Games concept was started in 1999 to celebrate the Millenium and since then it has become an annual event involving thousands of school children from across Leicestershire and Rutland. Each Local Authority area through their Sports Development Officer, work in partnership with local schools and community sports clubs select teams to represent their area. The selection process works in different ways depending on where you live and is carried out through school competitions, district trials and personal nominations.

2010 EMA Area Youth Games

The 2010 Games will be taking place on Sunday 27th June and the Inclusive Games on Friday 25th June.

Charnwood Borough Council will be arranging the teams for the Youth Games whilst the School Sports Partnerships will be arranging the teams for the Inclusive Games.

2009 EMA Area Youth Games

The 2009 Area Youth Games took place on Sunday 28th June and the Inclusive Games took place on Tuesday 30th June. The Charnwood team won both Netball competitions and the Swimming.
