Smart Cards are available to all users of Council car Parks and offer a flexible way of pre-paying for your parking.

Smart cards are inserted into a Pay and Display machine to purchase a ticket for the required length of your stay; your parking tariff is then automatically debited from your card and a Pay and Display ticket issued. The main advantage of this scheme is that the motorist does not need to have change available upon entering the car park, as there is no coinage involved in the transaction.

Smart Cards are available from the Council Offices and can be purchased by paying a refundable deposit of £5.00. Cards are purchased in financial multiples of £50.00 up to £400 (£50.00 being the minimum £400.00 being the maximum). When all your card credit has been used (or a small amount of credit left is left) it can then be returned to the Council where it can be reissued at a charge of your choice, up to £400.

If the card is no longer required your £5.00 deposit is returned.
