Answer

Charnwood Borough Council have not funded any projects designed to engage solely with the Muslim Community.

The Home Office allocated £115,000 to the Borough in April 2010 to work with the Home Office initiative, Prevent or to give it its full title ‘Prevent Violent Extremism’.  It is part of the Governments Counter Terrorism Strategy ‘Contest’ and its purpose is to identify and influence individuals who may be vulnerable to terrorist propaganda (particularly the Islamic extremism of al Qaeda).
