Answer

1. Does your council have any limitations on chugging - specific days, areas, etc?
Charnwood Borough Council does not currently have a formal policy in place to limit 'chugging'; however, it does advise organisations that they must contact the council with dates that they would like to attend the Town Centre.  Each organisation is given a fair and equal amount of dates throughout the year, but are not permitted to attend on market days, street collection days and when public events are taking place.

2. Which local streets or roads are most used by chuggers?
Streets in and around the Loughborough Town Centre area.

4. Have you had any problems with chuggers and, if so, what?
Charnwood Borough Council has had some historical issues with certain organisational representatives reported as being overly intrusive when dealing with members of the public.  The Council advised the representatives of the issues raised.

5. Have you had any complaints from the public about chuggers and, if so, what?
Charnwood Borough Council is not aware of any recent complaints from the public in this regard

6. Have you seen anything in the local press or had any dealings with the local press regarding chugging (please specify)?

7. Do you know if your council has debated the question of chugging and if so, what was the outcome?
