Question

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I would like to receive the following:

• Your selection criteria for Part P and renewables installers on all tendering and contract based selection exercises (inclusive of Housing, Leisure & Culture, Health & Social, Education, Highways, Repair & Maintenance, Environmental Health, Building Control & Renewable Energy departments).
• Details on the process for obtaining approved status for Part P and renewables installers who are certified under Stroma Certification’s Competent Person Schemes.

Stroma Certification is a DCLG approved certification body for installers and assessors. Our Competent Person Schemes, Microgeneration Certification Schemes, and Green Deal Assessor Organisation and Green Deal Installer certification schemes are all UKAS-accredited to ISO/IEC 17065: 2012.

Certain competitor organisations of ours are already on the approved lists (e.g. NAPIT and NICEIC) and we are seeking equal recognition for Stroma-certified members going through public sector contract and tendering processes

Answer

Charnwood Borough Council along with many other Local Authorities does not operate preferred supplier lists.

All Charnwood Borough Council contracts for over £ 25K are advertised on our contract register please see link below.

http://limfam.charnwood.gov.uk/ContractsSearch/ContractList.aspx

Please monitor our contract register for opportunities in which your company could be interested, we would also like to draw your attention to a website Source Leicestershire in which we advertise all contracts over £ 25K. There are also Source Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire sites which can be found by a Google search which advertise local authority contracts for the various counties.

http://www.sourceleicestershire.co.uk/Default.aspx?SitePage=CurrentContracts&SiteViewLevel=Web&PartnerId=0&FormType=None&Step=1&ContractId=0&AwardId=0&Ref=&CTitle=&CKey=&CPV=&Page=1&SearchLetter=_&LastAction

Along with a large number of Local Authorities we also use Construction line as a means to identify pre-qualified suppliers in construction related industries as you are registered with Construction line your organisation will be a pre-qualified supplier to a large number of Local Government contracts.
