Question

Please would you provide me with the following data as an FOI request.

How many different types of bins are provided to your residents for different types of waste collection, e.g. recyclying, food waste, general waste, etc.?

How often are each of them collected?

Do you have any ancillary charges for collection, e.g. for garden waste? If so, how much and what for?

How much have you gained in revenue through charges, rather than tax, in each of the past three years from householders for waste collection of any kind?

Answer

How many different types of bins are provided to your residents for different types of waste collection, e.g. recycling, food waste, general waste, etc.?
2 wheelie bins are provided – one for general waste, one for recycling.
Residents are also able to sign up to our garden waste service, where we provide an additional wheelie bin.

How often are each of them collected? All bins are collected fortnightly. With the waste and recycling bins being collected on alternate weeks.

Do you have any ancillary charges for collection, e.g. for garden waste? If so, how much and what for?
Our Garden waste scheme is charged at £17 per year if paying by direct debit, or £26 per year if paying with an alternate payment method.
Bulky waste – the first 3 bulky waste item collections per year are free, after that we charge £15 for each additional 3 collections within the same year.
