Question

This is a request for documents under the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Act.
I request maps showing all land within the authority area that falls into the following categories:

· green belt land,
· local authority owned land,
· local authority designated brownfield sites,
· undeveloped land currently held by developers (also known as “landbank” land)
· village greens
· Allotments

Answer

We have since receiving your request, received guidance from Ordnance Survey who apply strict guide lines to the supply of raw 'base data' based on data captured from OS Master map.  We will therefore not be able to supply the requested map files as it would breach OS copyright and you should speak to Ordnance Survey regarding any re-use of this data.   The data itself is publically available on our website.

In the mapping system there is a layer named Allotments and another called Council Owned Land.  Within the layer named Local Plan there is a further layer named Rural Land (Green Wedge).  These layers can be turned on and off by using the tick boxes on the right hand side of the map webpage.

We do not have any Green Belt in Charnwood and we have no data on village greens.

We also have a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment on our website at http://www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/shlaa

Appendix 1 has a summary of all sites with info on whether they are Greenfield or Brownfield.  This is also the closest match to the request regarding developer owned land, which we do not record on our mapping system.  Maps for each site are also available on this web page
