Question

The amount of legal costs incurred by your council as a result of appeals arising from the council's planning decisions. Please note, I expect you to include all fees arising from using council staff and time as well as fees paid to external companies, (for example to lawyers or solicitors).
Please break down the details by individual appeal, including the name of the appellant, developer and proposed development and the number of appeals (if more than one).
Please include a separate category detailing the legal costs incurred by the council from appeals arising from the council's planning decisions ON WIND TURBINES or WIND FARMS.
Please break down the details by individual appeal, including the name of the appellant, developer and proposed wind farm, and the number of appeals (if more than one). I would like details going back to January 1 2009

Answer

Following the above information request I am pleased to provide the following information:

Attached is a document showing all planning appeals that have incurred legal costs since January 2009.  The hours shown are those of our internal legal service,  the principle solicitor of which, has an hourly rate of £50.04.

There has only been one planning appeal involving a wind turbine and this is shown at the bottom of the table in the attached document.

I apologies for the delay in proving this response.
