Does the Council operate a garden waste collection service?
If so, does the Council charge residents for this service? How much?

What is the total revenue of the service each year?
How many collection trucks are used in providing the service? Who owns the trucks and what did they cost to purchase/hire?
If operated as a wheelie bin service, how many garden waste bins are collected by the crews per hour, on average?
Who is the Council's supplier of garden waste wheelie bins (if used) and what was the most recent unit cost?

Yes
If so, does the Council charge residents for this service? How much? 
Yes - £15  per year if paid by Direct Debit, £26 if paid by cheque.
If paid for, how many subscribers (a) does the service currently have (b) have there been in each year the service was available? 
(a) 27,700,
(b)  1/4/08  -  12,580; 
1/4/09  -  17,100; 
1/4/10   -  22,400 and 
1/4/11  -  26,300
If paid for, how many subscribers join and leave the service on average each year?
4,000 join, 400 leave

Total cost - £496,000. Not calculated on an individual basis

£392,000 for 2010/11

This service is outsourced to an external company.  Our external partner provide the collection vehicles and wheelie bins as part of the service contract.

This is yet to be decided and will depend on budget reviews
