Parking consultation - Woodhouse May Day challenge
Firstly may I say that I am absolutely opposed to this suggestion.
I initially thought that this was a joke but then realised it wasn't the 1st of April.
Being an individual that works full time my time off, bank holidays, are precious and a time for relaxation. Can you imagine my horror at the thought of 'traffic control and marshalls' being outside my house from 730 am. If wanted to buy a house opposite a car park then I would have done so, this is a village green and should remain so. May I make a suggestion that people park on the beacon car park free of charge as that is a purpose built facility and not too far to walk?
I would like you to provide me with information as to who and when this suggestion was supported by the parish council as don't recall being informed of such an important decision.
In addition, I would like to submit a freedom of information request as to which addresses the consultation letters was sent to.
If approved, this temporary car parking will become a permanent fixture of that I am sure. The damage will be irreparable and the traffic congestion will be dreadful. This is the most ridiculous suggestion.
Finally, I object to the 'emotional' use of the headline charity. I work for a local charity and I think this is irrelevant in this consultation unless you are trading on people's goodwill.
I look forward to this being opposed and being kept updated with progress. I will personally oppose this through every possible avenue.
