• The total cost of providing the brown bin service including kerbside collection and disposal of materials, any capital cost of equipment, labour and recycling
• The cost of invoicing, reminders, payment collection and financial management of the brown bin charging system
• The cost of delivery and collection of brown bins at the start and end of individual household contracts.
The Garden Waste service is covered by the larger Environmental Services Contract that the council hold with Serco. This contract also covers the collection of the waste and recycling bins and street cleaning. The contract runs from August 2009 to March 2017, with a contract value of £4,250,000.
The cost to the council for operating this service as a specific task of the contract, is £15 per bin per annum
