Answer

Reporting of Arrears changed in April 2013. Prior to April 2013 arrears totals excluded certain types of costs - for example legal costs. Since April balances include all arrears and there are no exclusions.

Hence, TOTAL ARREARS for DWELLINGS, GARAGES, SHOPS AND STORES, CURRENT AND FORMER TENANTS are as follows:

End of TOTAL ARREARS
Jan-13 719,969
Feb-13 700,061
Mar-13 651,590
Apr-13 835,046
May-13 878,614
Jun-13 918,339
Jul-13 904,401

We have only recorded the A/C balances of those tenants affected by the Bedroom Tax separately since the end of June; therefore we hold the following data:

End of June 2013    £83,998.23
End of July   2013   £80,972.00

2) The number of households relating to total arrears are:

End of TOTAL A/CS
Jan-13 2,207
Feb-13 2,158
Mar-13 1,776
Apr-13 2,295
May-13 2,408
Jun-13 2,437
Jul-13 2,278

Number of those households above affected by Bedroom Tax

End of June 2013 – 603
End of July  2013 – 526
