Question

What was your total departmental spending on environmental health and services from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009? By ‘environmental health and services’ we are interested in total departmental spending for any and all departments concerned with areas such street cleaning, refuse collection, and the general upkeep of the local area.

Can you give us a breakdown of spending on the following areas between 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009?

What was your total departmental spending on environmental health and services from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009? By ‘environmental health and services’ we are interested in total departmental spending for any and all departments concerned with areas such street cleaning, refuse collection, and the general upkeep of the local area.
Actual £1,291,500 (Environmental Health (Environmental Protection, Food Safety, H&S, Pest Control , Dog Control)and Street Management)
In addition to the above costs, Charnwood Borough Council has an Environmental Services Contract which covers Waste and Recycling and street cleaning.  The current contract started in 2009 with a finish date of 2017 and has an approximate annual cost of £4,900,000

Actual expenditure not available yet however Original Budget for 13/14 of £1,407,600 ( (Environmental Health(Environmental Protection, Food Safety, H&S, Pest Control , Dog Control)and Street Management)

-Street cleaning – This service is outsourced.  We do not hold figures for the number of employees our contractor has

-Pest control – 3 Pest Control Officers, (+ .5 Admin, .3 Management)
