Description

Fountain, probably mid C19. Flanking walls form a shallow ?U? plan (c8? high). Tooled ashlar, terminating in slightly moulded pilasters, and topped by a cornice. Adjoining these pilasters are 2 small roughly shaped stones, hitching posts perhaps. In centre of main wall, a semi circular arched recess holds a cast iron lion head from which water falls into a semi-circular moulded cast iron projecting trough. Sump below.
