A briefing session is being held for prospective candidates and their agents in the forthcoming parliamentary elections for the Loughborough and Charnwood constituencies.
The session will take place at 6pm on Thursday, April 27 at Charnwood Borough Council, Southfields Offices in Committee Room 1 and is open to anyone considering standing for election in those constituencies for the general election on June 8.
The session will cover an overview of the election processes and arrangements and it should take no more than an hour-and-a-half. Candidate’s nomination and support packs will be available after the session.

The deadline to register to vote in time for the general election is Monday, May 22. Anyone who is not yet registered to vote should apply now at www.gov.uk/registertovote. Anyone who has registered to vote at local elections in May does not need to re-register in order to take part in the 2017 general election.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm, Tuesday May 23. The deadline to apply for a proxy vote, where a voter nominates a trusted person to cast a vote on their behalf, is 5pm, Wednesday May 31. For more details visit www.charnwood.gov.uk/GE2017
