Community groups in Charnwood can find out how to apply for local funding by tuning into a live Facebook chat.
The discussion, organised by Charnwood Borough Council in partnership with the Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, will talk about funding on offer for local groups and offer advice about how to apply.
The talk will be broadcast live on the Charnwood Community Heroes Facebook page between 12-1pm on Wednesday, October 4.
Chris Traill, Strategic Director for Neighbourhoods and Community Wellbeing said: “This event is a great chance for groups to find out more about local funding opportunities.
“Often groups may not know what funding is available to them, so this is a chance to speak to the LR Community Foundation directly and get advice on how to apply.
“We hope the live discussion will also give people the chance to join in and ask questions too.
“This is our second live Facebook chat, following the success of our first broadcast, which has had over 2,400 views so far.”
Tina Robinson, Grants Officer at Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation, who is taking part in the live chat said: “The Community Foundation is delighted to take part in this innovative approach to raising awareness of funding opportunities for voluntary and community groups through our funding programmes and look forward to helping advise groups on how to apply.
The event is part of a monthly ‘funding feature’ organised by the Council’s communities and partnerships team. Each month information and advice is posted on the team’s Facebook page, to encourage community groups to make the most of funding available to them.
To join the Facebook Live chat, people can visit the Charnwood Community Heroes Facebook page on Wednesday, October 4. The talk will be broadcast live on the Facebook page from 12pm.
A recording of the interview will be available on the page for people who can’t tune in live.
