This year’s festivities kicked-off with the Christmas lights switch-on in Loughborough Market Place on Sunday, November 26.
Crowds gathered to see Capital FM host the event for the first time, with breakfast’s Dino, Pete and Tyles as well as afternoon presenter, Claire. The entertainment included a DJ set, live competitions and music videos on a giant screen.
The team from Capital were joined by the cast of this year’s town hall pantomime, Robin Hood, as well as entertainment from Loughborough Students’ Union Sing and St Botolph’s School Choir.
During the day there was a charity market and a French market as well as arts and crafts, fairground rides and a Santa’s grotto in Carillon Court.
The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Pauline Ranson, was at the event and said: “We've had another fantastic lights switch-on this year.
