Activities for all the family to enjoy are on offer to celebrate World Disability Day.
Charnwood Borough Council’s sport and active recreation team has organised a number of free, inclusive activities on Sunday, December 3.
Sports include basketball and football, taught by community coaches from the Leicester Riders and Leicester City Football Club.
There will also be New Age Kurling, boccia and sitting volleyball sessions on offer.
The activities have been adapted to be suitable for people with physical disabilities.
Brian Page, Lead Member for Communities, Safety and Wellbeing said: “We’re committed to helping all of our residents be active, and we’ve got some great activities on offer to celebrate World Disability Day.
“We’ll have sessions for adults and children, so it’s an opportunity for the whole family to be active together.”
The activities will take place from 11am-2pm at Loughborough Leisure Centre:
- Tennis – 12-2pm
- Leicester Riders coaches 12.30-1.30pm
- LCFC coaches – 11-11.30am and 12-12.30pm
- Running line – 1-2pm
- Gymnastics – 11am-12pm
- Cricket – 11am-12pm
- Boccia and New Age Kurling will take place all day.
