The bandstand in the heart of Queen’s Park in Loughborough is undergoing some maintenance work and is currently closed.
Charnwood Borough Council discovered an issue with the floor during a routine check and repairs are needed. This will be carried out as soon as possible.
The bandstand plays host to a series of concerts through the summer which the Council says will continue.
The next concert is on Sunday July 7 when the Charnwood Concert Band will be appearing. They will play under a gazebo at the band stand and seating will be provided as usual.
Sylvia Wright, head of leisure and culture at the Council said: “Unfortunately, the bandstand needs a bit of urgent repair work so we are having to make alternative arrangements for the concerts. However, the show will go on.
“The bandstand has been in the park since 1902 so it does need some care and attention, which the Council will give it.”
After the Charnwood Concert Band, the next concerts are Loughborough Concert Band on July 14, the Hathern Youth and Concert Brass on July 21 and The New Orleans Hotshots Jazz Band on August 11.
