Council tenants and leaseholders had a great opportunity to meet and mingle at a networking event recently.
The event, organised by Charnwood Borough Council, took place at Loughborough Town Hall and enabled tenants to meet officers from across various services, including anti-social behaviour, repairs, customer engagement, and housing needs. There were also opportunities to meet representatives of council partners such as Fortem, Falcon Support Services, The Bridge and the Marios Tinenti Centre.
This year’s event saw a record number of 117 attendees, who enjoyed the refreshments and relaxed atmosphere and took home packs containing useful and important information, including the new “Have Your Say” leaflet which details all of the ways tenants and leaseholders can give feedback and improve the services delivered. It also lists ways that tenants can help to improve the community where they live with assistance from the council.
Cllr Paul Mercer, lead member for housing, said: “Every year, more and more council tenants are attending our networking event, and this is fantastic to see.
“We want to maintain strong relationships with our tenants and leaseholders, and events like these are perfect opportunities for them to voice their concerns, discover important news and information and, most importantly, to meet the officers and councillors who are working hard for them.
“We intend to repeat the event next year and hopefully even more tenants will be able to attend.”
