Give the gift of community spirit this Christmas thanks to a festive offer by Charnwood Community Lottery.
People can give lottery tickets as Christmas presents to friends and family who can enjoy the exciting chance to win a prize and know money is also being raised for local good causes.
The lottery was launched by Charnwood Borough Council last year and over £25,000 has been raised for good causes. These include village halls, community libraries, swimming clubs, play groups, scout groups, and various charities.
For every £1 ticket, 60p goes towards helping good causes and players can win up to £25,000.
People can buy vouchers for the lottery which can be gifted to their loved ones for Christmas.
Julie Robinson, head of neighbourhood services said: “Since launching last year lottery players have already raised over £25,000 for good causes in the borough.
“Christmas is a time for giving and if you want a different kind of gift this year then a voucher for the lottery could be a great option.
“Not only will you be giving someone the chance to win a prize but you’re also helping to support a local cause. For every £5 gift voucher purchased, £3 will be donated to good causes.”
Gift vouchers for the lottery start at £5 and can be personalised by adding a message to the recipient. People can choose which good cause to support or let the recipient decide.
