Garden Waste Service suspended

  • Charnwood logo news banner

With our waste partner Serco, we have decided to suspend garden waste collections from Monday, March 23 for a period of at least two weeks due to staff shortages resulting from the coronavirus.

Please do not put your bins out.

We do not take this decision lightly but it means we are able to divert resources into the recycling and refuse collections which are more critical functions.

We will continually review this position and will aim to restore the garden waste service as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we would encourage customers to manage their garden waste at home such as by home composting if they can.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

We hope people understand that these are exceptional circumstances which are beyond our control. As a Council our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives, works and visits Charnwood.
