Play areas in Charnwood will reopen on Monday July 6
Charnwood Borough Council which owns 44 play areas across the borough will reopen them next week but is asking people to follow social distancing and guidance to ensure everybody’s safety.
A safety assessment of each play area is currently being carried out and people are urged not to use them until they reopen on Monday July 6.
The Council will clean each play area on a weekly schedule but is unable to make sure they are disinfected after every use. Parents are advised to take their own measures to keep children safe. This includes wiping down equipment before it’s used and making sure children wash their hands before and after using it.
Some pieces of equipment will be removed from play areas to ensure social distancing can be adhered to and information signs will be installed with guidance on using the play areas safely.
Council-owned outdoor gyms and the skate park in Loughborough will also open on Monday July 6.
