Loughborough's Polish community gathered with other members of the Charnwood community on Saturday, March 12 to show their solidarity for the people of Ukraine.

They gathered at Loughborough's iconic Sockman statue in the town centre. The Sockman was 'dressed' with a sock in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

Loughborough's Polish Club have been collecting items to help Ukrainian refugees over the past couple of weeks and have been overwhelmed by the support.

The Council praised the club and its volunteers and supporters for everything they are doing.

Several councillors, including Council Leader Jonathan Morgan and the Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Paul Baines, joined the gathering today.

The Council stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
