A new English oak tree was recently planted in Queen's Park, Loughborough to mark the 70th day of the year in which Her Majesty The Queen celebrates the 70th anniversary of her accession.
The tree was planted in support of the Queen’s Green Canopy which is a unique tree planting initiative which invites people across the country to ‘plant a tree for the jubilee’.
We had a quick chat with the Council's lead member for Loughborough, Cllr Jenny Bokor who was joined at the tree planting ceremony by the Council’s open spaces partner idverde, council officers and volunteers from Friends of Queen’s Park.
