Polish community welcomes vice-consul

The Polish Community Centre in Loughborough welcomed a visit by Polish vice-consul Patryk Gowin who heard about the fantastic effort to collect donations to help Ukrainian refugees.
Charnwood Borough Council leader Jonathan Morgan attended the meeting which also involved Polish Community Centre president Gosia Khrais.
Cllr Morgan said: “We have all been shocked by the events unfolding in Ukraine but it has been humbling and inspiring to see how the Polish community in Loughborough have responded.
“Their efforts to collect donations and transport them to Poland to help the refugees has been amazing. The support they have received from the wider Charnwood community has also been fantastic.
“I was delighted to meet the Polish vice consul Patryk Gowin and talk to him about how the community’s response and how the Council was supporting.”
