Video: Outwoods Visitor Centre and Café formally opened and dedicated in memory of former Council leader

A plaque dedicating the Outwoods Visitor Centre and Café in memory of David Slater, former leader of Charnwood Borough Council was recently unveiled at an event to formally open the new facility.

In this short video, Cllr Jonathan Morgan, leader of Charnwood Borough Council explains the plaque is a fitting tribute to David and also recognises his service to the people of Charnwood. 

Cllr Slater joined the borough council in 2001 as a ward member for Quorn and Mountsorrel Castle Ward before becoming leader of the Council in 2010. He stepped down as leader in November 2017 before sadly passing away in 2018.

David’s family, including his wife Janice attended the event with other guests to see the unveiling.
