Time is running out to get your nominations in for Charnwood Community Heroes 2022.
The deadline to nominate your hero for one of the nine categories is Sunday May 8, 2022.
Charnwood Community Heroes, run by Charnwood Borough Council, are a chance to thank people, groups and organisations who have carried out a good deed – no matter how small or large – in the community.
The awards celebrate the work of people in the community, whether they have helped a neighbour, raised funds or are always there for others. You can also nominate a group, organisation or business which has carried out excellent work in the past year.
This year’s awards are being held in association with Loughborough-based Morningside Pharmaceuticals.
Charnwood Community Heroes is also being kindly supported by John Storer Charnwood, Serco, 1284 Ltd, idverde and Loughborough College.
Cllr Leigh Harper-Davies, the council’s lead member for community support, said: “To be running Charnwood Community Heroes once again is so exciting as it gives people a chance to recognise and thank members in the community for all their good work.
“If you know someone who is always trying to help others or always goes above and beyond in the community then I would certainly encourage them to nominate their community hero.
“The award ceremony is going to be a special occasion and it will be a great celebration of so many people’s hard work.”
Dr Nik Kotecha OBE, Chairman of Morningside Pharmaceuticals, said: “We are so proud to be supporting Charnwood Community Heroes to celebrate the fantastic work that occurs across the borough.
“Rewarding those unsung-heroes who do so much but ask for so little in return is close to our hearts at Morningside, as we’re passionate about working with communities to bring them together and improving the quality of life of the people living there.
“I would encourage you to nominate anyone that you think deserves a Charnwood Community Hero award.”
The award ceremony will take place at John Storer House in Loughborough on Saturday June 18. It will be the first in-person award ceremony since 2019.
The nine categories which are open for nominations are:

Harry sadly died in 2018. Pat is the chair of the Loughborough in Bloom Board.
