The Charnwood Sports Awards are back for 2022 and residents are being encouraged to enter their nominations.

The awards, run by Charnwood Borough Council, will celebrate the sporting achievements of individuals and clubs as well as the dedication of volunteers.

They will also highlight schools and workplaces making a difference to health and wellbeing in the borough.

It is the first time the Sports Awards have taken place in three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cllr Leigh Harper-Davies, the Council’s lead member for community support said: “It’s great our awards which highlight the fantastic sporting talent and contributions to physical activity in the borough are back!

“The awards will recognise the amazing achievements of individuals, clubs and schools as well as the dedication of those behind the scenes.

“They will also celebrate the important role physical activity plays in helping residents to improve their wellbeing.

“Whether it’s someone who has been outstanding in their chosen sport, a volunteer who goes above and beyond or a workplace which is committed to the health and wellbeing of their staff members, submit your nomination now and recognise the fantastic work they do!”

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Monday, December 5.
