Grab yourself a litter picking kit to help give Charnwood a spring clean

Litter picking kits will be loaned out to Charnwood residents to help give the borough a spring clean.
Charnwood Borough Council has a number of free litter pickers, high-vis jackets, and litter bags to loan out to residents as part of the Great British Spring Clean, which takes place from March 17 – April 2.
The Council’s waste partner, Serco, will pick up the bags of litter collected from the groups and individuals that take part.
Cllr Leigh Harper-Davies, the Council’s lead member for waste, said: “The Council and residents are proud of Charnwood and are dedicated to keeping it clean and tidy.
“It is fantastic to be able to support that community effort by loaning out litter picking kits.
“Looking after the environment is a priority of the Council and we work with our waste partner Serco to ensure that our streets and open spaces are kept clean from any litter.”
The litter picking kits will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, with residents being urged to register their interest as soon as possible.

Once individuals or groups have completed their litter pick, they are asked to return their kits to allow more residents the opportunity to take part.
There will be a limit of six equipment packs per group, and the Council will also accept requests from individuals.
The Great British Spring Clean is back for its eighth year and Keep Britain Tidy’s theme for 2023 is #LitterHeroes and applauds those who take pride they take in their local community.
