The Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Jennifer Tillotson attended a special Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace last week.
The annual event took place on Tuesday, May 9 with the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Royal all in attendance.
The Royal Garden Party took place shortly after both the royal family and the nation celebrated the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, said: “It was an honour to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party held to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
“I attended the event with my daughter and we had the opportunity to see the beautiful palace gardens. Tea was served in specially erected marquees and two bands were playing all afternoon.
“The Royal family in attendance were the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal.
“We were also very lucky that the forecast rain didn’t arrive until we were on our way home.”
Charnwood joined in the national celebrations for His Majesty King Charles III with events taking place across the borough.
The Mayor also attended a civic coronation service at All Saints with Holy Trinity Church in Loughborough on Sunday May 7, to mark the coronation. You can read more about that on the Council’s website.
