Residents and visitors to Loughborough have enjoyed back-to-back weekends of specialist markets in the town.
Ceramics in Charnwood returned to the Market Place on Sunday, May 14 with the second vegan market of the year taking place on Sunday, May 21.
The events were both run in partnership with Charnwood Borough Council who operate Loughborough Market.
Chris Grace, head of economic development and regeneration at the Council, said: ’I was pleased to see visitors enjoying the events in the marketplace over the last two weekends.
“The town has a strong heritage of markets and we are always looking to work with specialist operators such as these to give a variety of products for our residents to enjoy.
“I am looking forward to the summer with more events planned. Both residents and visitors from further afield will be able to enjoy them.”
The ceramics market featured exhibitors from the East Midlands selling a huge variety of handmade pottery, sculpture and ceramics-based artwork.
Vegan Markets and Co. operate the vegan market which sold a variety of vegan street food, artisan bakes, craft cheeses, handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing and jewellery, and arts and crafts.
Both markets took place during the Love Your Local Market campaign for 2023 which takes place from May 12 – May 27.
Love Your Local Market celebrates markets across the country and encourages people to visit and use their local market to support traders.
Loughborough Market operates a retail market on Thursdays and Saturdays with a vintage market taking place on Fridays. To find out more about the Council’s markets, click here.
