Exciting events continuing in Loughborough for visitors

Published: Thu 17th August, 2023

Loughborough will continue to host a number of exciting events over the next few months for visitors and residents to enjoy.

The town has welcomed vegan markets, a circus and much more alongside events to mark the centenary year of Loughborough’s war memorial, the Carillon Tower.

Over the next few months, Loughborough will host a second Gardeners’ Fair, a final bandstand concert, a Bike and Trike Meet and a panto fun day before the annual fair rolls into town in November ahead of the Christmas lights switch-on.

Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “It’s fantastic to see how popular the events have been this year with residents and visitors to Loughborough.

“The specialist markets have seen big crowds and our Carillon celebrations were also well received.

“There’s much more on the way and it won’t be long before the historic Loughborough Fair rolls into town.

“The one-off events are on top of the weekly markets in the town centre and together they all help create a great atmosphere and support local businesses. We have a lot to look forward to for the rest of 2023.”

Lisa Brown, manager of Love Loughborough BID which also hosts events in the town, said: “Loughborough has so much to offer to visitors and residents and has a rich history and fascinating heritage.

“We are proud to be organising and supporting a number of events throughout Loughborough which is crucial to drive footfall and to bring people into the town.”
