Charnwood Borough Council’s refuse and recycling partner Serco has confirmed a pay deal has been reached with GMB Union members in Charnwood and no industrial action will take place.
It comes after some Serco employees proposed to take industrial action if an agreement on pay was not reached.
Council leader Jewel Miah welcomed the news. He said: “I am pleased an agreement has been reached and this important service for Charnwood residents will not be affected by any industrial action. We look forward to continuing to deliver the service with Serco and its hard-working team.”
