Excitement builds for Music in the Park event in Loughborough

Fun and music for all ages comes to Southfields Park in Loughborough at a new event taking place this weekend.
Music in the Park is being held on Saturday and Sunday, 14 and 15 September and will be filled with live performances, activities and stalls, and promises music, fun and unforgettable memories for all ages.
Charnwood Borough Council has organised the event, which is kindly sponsored by Loughborough Schools Foundation, and a wide range of bands and artists from across the musical landscape will be performing at the two-day event.
Performers confirmed include musicians and singers Ollie Hayes, Charlotte Beaver, Sarah Clarke, Ruth Chomik, and Olly Evans.
There will also be appearances from the Quorn Ukulele Band, Sing It Happy, Danny Round & Band and Lacky C.
Stalls confirmed for the event include street food, cakes, charities, jewellery and a fully licensed bar.
Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “We are looking forward to hosting another spectacular event in Southfields Park after the Celebrating Charnwood event in June.
“Music in the Park will be a superb weekend of fun and music for all the family, and a great way to finish the summer and start the countdown to events coming up, including the return of Loughborough Fair.
“We have some amazing musical talent performing at the weekend and some great local and national traders, so please come down and show your support.”

The Beehive Lane multi-storey car park and Southfield Road car parks are available during the event. Southfield offices car park will also be open to the public.
Music in the Park is one of several events which form part of the Living Loughborough project which is being supported by Loughborough Town Deal. The Town Deal secured £16.9 million from the Government’s Towns Fund to support 11 projects and in total, they are worth more than £40 million of investment.
