What happens after I apply for a council home?

Applicants who have been accepted onto the Housing Register will receive a letter or email that confirms the Band their application has been placed in and the number of bedrooms they are eligible for.

Applicants will be able to 'bid' online for up to two properties per week on the Charnwood Choice Based Lettings website.

More information on bidding for properties can be found in the Choice Based Lettings guide below:

What should I do if my circumstances change?

Your application may be affected if there is a change in your circumstances, for example if you have become pregnant, would like to add another person to your household or you have changed your address.

If there has been a change in your circumstance, you can notify the Council by updating your online Housing Register application.
