Anyone aged over 16 years can apply to join our Housing Register, to rent a property from the Council or a Registered Provider (formerly known as Housing Associations) in Charnwood.
If you are already hold a tenancy with a Council or Registered Provider you can also apply for a Mutual Exchange.
How to apply
You can make an application by completing the online Housing Register Application Form. Please see the below guidance to follow in order to submit this application. Please note the guidance is designed for use on a computer or laptop and not a smart phone or mobile device:

What happens after I apply?
The Housing Allocations and Lettings Team will assess your application. Applicants who are accepted onto the Housing Register will receive a letter that confirms the Band their application has been placed in and the number of bedrooms they are eligible for.
Applicants will be able to 'bid' online for up to two properties per week on the Choice Based Lettings Website. More information about bidding for properties can be found in the Housing Register Applicant’s Guide below:

What should I do if my circumstances change?
Your application may be affected if there is a change in your circumstances, for example if you have become pregnant, would like to add another person to your household or you have changed your address.
If there has been a change in your circumstance, you can notify the Council by updating your online Housing Register application. For guidance, please see the document below:
