Organised by Charnwood Borough Council and supported by Love Loughborough, Armed Forces Day day will see a host of events in the town centre as we honour the dedication of serving and former Armed Forces personnel.
The event will take place on Saturday June 30. Below is a timetable of events for the day.
At 10am there will be a Charnwood Heritage Plaque unveiling at the Army Reserve Centre, Leicester Road, Loughborough. Mayor of Charnwood, Cllr Christine Harris will say a few words and the Loughborough Endowed Schools will play a fanfare
10am: Compere Dave Shepherd to introduce and get Armed Forces Day underway
10am to 2pm: Face-painting fun
- 158 Royal Logistics Corp Regiment/203 Loughborough Transport Squadron will be in Market Place
- Tea and cake from the Armed Forces Breakfast Club
- Landrover display
- Royal British Legion motorbike club
- Display of 100 army boots planted with poppies and our very own ‘Tommy’
