We know the difference a safe, stable home can make to people’s lives.

That's why one of our most important roles as a Council is to help people access and sustain suitable housing.

Our Housing Needs Team advises and assists people who have a need for housing, including those who are homeless and those who are at risk of becoming homeless from their current accommodation.

We are currently recruiting for a number of positions within the team.

If you are looking for a new role where you can make a difference to people’s lives, develop professionally and personally, and be part of a great team, then read on.

Helping people with housing

Our Housing Needs Team provide housing advice to hundreds of people each year, many of whom are assisted to successfully access and sustain housing. This includes council homes, registered provider accommodation and private rental accommodation.

One of the Council’s top priorities is to create healthy communities and homes are very much at the centre of that.

A rewarding career

To ensure we can deliver the best services to residents, we have reviewed our Housing Needs Team and this has led to the creation of some new permanent roles and some temporary roles being made permanent.

There are also some vacancies in the team after colleagues have gained experience and developed and have progressed to more senior roles within the council and elsewhere. We are a Council that is committed to developing its best asset - our people.

Katie Moore, Head of Strategic Housing, said: "The Housing Needs Team play a crucial role in supporting residents to access suitable housing every year. Working in the housing sector is incredibly rewarding and you can make a real difference to people who are often in very difficult situations. We have a great housing team here at Charnwood who are committed and dedicated to helping residents."
