Charnwood Community Action - Parish and Town Council support

Residents in Leicester and its outlying areas, including Birstall, Thurmaston and Wanlip in Charnwood, are to be asked to continue to follow stricter lockdown restrictions for at least two weeks, and non-essential shops will be closed. Some Parish and Town Councils have set up support groups to help their communities.

"Support group has been established in the village which has leafleted resident advising where help can be obtained. In addition the Golden Fleece has posted notices offering supplies where needed."

Queniborough Volunteer Group

Queniborough Parish Council are supporting the Queniborough Volunteer Group. There are a group of volunteers in Queniborough who have leafleted every house in the village with contact details for those in need of support or looking to volunteer.

Walton on the Wolds  

A letter of commitment has been delivered to all residents in the village and a Corona Watch Whatsapp group has been set up that residents can be added too. Calls being made to those that live alone, and postcards are being sent to residents that do not use technology.
