Our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives and works in Charnwood, and everyone who visits.

Charnwood Museum is situated in the beautiful Victorian surroundings of Queen's Park in Loughborough.
The museum is normally open all year round, with free admission to both temporary and permanent exhibitions. There are also regular talks by the Friends of the Museum, and monthly get-togethers at the Local History Cafe, alongside a host of events and workshops for children and their families.
We have adapted some of our activities so that visitors can take part at home, and some that you can take part in at the Museum. You can find them at www.charnwood.gov.uk/museum_online.

Car parks near Charnwood Museum are situated on: Granby Street, Beehive Lane, Browns Lane. We have one disabled parking spot at the front of Charnwood Museum; please call us on 01509 233754 for details.
April to September
- Wednesday to Saturday: 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm
October to March
October Half Term: Wednesday October 21 to Sunday October 25 from 10am-2pm. The last admission will be 15 minutes before closing.
From Wednesday October 28, 2020
- Wednesday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday from 10am-1pm.
- We are closed on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
- Bank Holidays: Open Good Friday (check back for times), closed on Bank Holiday Mondays.
Queen's Park Café
Attached to Charnwood Museum, Queen's Park Café offers a seasonal menu catering to a wide audience with a variety of hot and cold food and drinks. The cafe is offering socially-distanced seating both inside and outside, and are also offering a takeaway service. For those remaining inside they are taking contact details to assist with Track and Trace.
People of all ages are welcome to stop by and enjoy. For any catering enquiries please call 01509 233750.
The cafe will be closed due to the national lockdown that begins on Thursday November 5, 2020.
Charnwood museum shop (currently closed)
Charnwood Museum has a well-presented, dedicated retail space which has a variety of products reflecting the themes, displays and exhibitions of the Museum.
You can find a wide range of products available:
- Pocket money toys for all ages
- Souvenirs of Loughborough and Charnwood
- Fossils, Minerals and Gemstones of all sizes
- Books – a variety of titles including a large local history selection
- Vintage and nostalgic Ladybird book items
The museum also stocks a selection of items from local artists and makers; supporting local creative talent.
There’s something for all budgets and all sales in the shop contribute to the sustainability of Charnwood Museum. The merchandise is always changing so come and take a look!
The shop can be visited during the Museum’s opening hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 3pm
