Charnwood strategic partnership

Covid-19: We are currently under national restrictions. Please stay at home to control the virus, protect the NHS and save lives.

Charnwood Together, the local strategic partnership for Charnwood is a voluntary, non-executive partnership.

This means we are non profit making and work together to help improve life and work in the borough.

We first created the partnership following government guidance and encouragement that all local authorities should consider a local community strategy. As part of this partnership, our vision is 'To improve the quality of life for everyone living and working in Charnwood'.

For more information about the partnership, please visit the Charnwood Together website.

Local strategic partnership

Members of our partnership include: local councils, public service providers and statutory agencies, businesses, voluntary organisations and the local community, with the aim of improving public services and promoting the economic, social and environmental well-being of Charnwood.

The partnership is led by a board of representatives from local agencies and organisations with a forum whose role is to hold the board accountable for implementation of the strategy and its regular review. The forum is open to all groups and organisations in the borough.

Our role in the partnership

One of our main roles is to encourage and support the delivery of what is known as the sustainable community strategy.

The current strategy was written using lots of information gathered from all the partners including:

  • The Primary Care Trust
  • The Police
  • Charnwood Borough Council
  • Local groups including parish and town councils

We have used this information to identify the key issues that Charnwood deals with, from education to employment, access to services, crime and much more.
