Recreation studies

In 2010 we published a study into open spaces, sport and recreation which provides standards for different types of open spaces, and compares these with current open spaces across the borough.

Types of spaces that were looked at included parks, natural green spaces, allotments, sports pitches, children’s play and youth/ adult recreation. Information on the study can be found below;

Charnwood Open Spaces Strategy, 2013

We have also produced a strategy for the provsion of open spaces up to 2028, which addresses the findings of the open spaces, sport and recreation study, produced in 2010.  It sets out, amongst other things, how any shortages in open spaces will be addressed.
