Volunteering is about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid (apart from expenses).
Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and gain useful experience. It can also be fun!

Community project case studies
The Rural Community Council (RCC) are one of our key partners who have successfully supported many of the local groups across the borough. Some examples of successful community projects are available on the RCC website.
Voluntary Action LeicesterShire provide a funding toolkit that provides you with support on the following:
- developing project plans
- researching funds
- structuring funding and tender bids
- read and review of draft funding applications and tender bids
- diversifying income through income generation and fund-raising

Voluntary sector compact
In 2004 the we adopted a voluntary sector compact which set out an agreed approach to managing relations between the statutory and voluntary sectors within Charnwood and North West Leicestershire.
