Basic route details: The Leicestershire round route is waymarked. The 53km course will also have sole2soul markers. This event starts off at Burbage Common in Hinckley. From there you will pass through a number of small villages and towns to include Aston Flamville, Sharnford, Claybrook Magna/Parva, Frolesworth, Liere, Dunton Bassett, Ashby magna, Willoughby Waterleys, Peatling Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Sheersby, Saddington, Gumley, Foxton Locks, East Langton and Finish in Glooston Village Hall.
The scenery on the route is beautiful and well worth taking some photos (which can be showcased on our gallery page)
Please be aware that you will also be running over different terrain and some spots on the route could be quite uneven on the foot and quite boggy at times.
There will be 4 check points on the route, each checkpoint will be equipped with Water, Coke, flapjacks, fruit, homemade cakes/biscuits and a selection of sweet and savoury items.
Checkpoint 1: Claybrooke 13km (8 miles) 9.30am to 11.00am
Checkpoint 2: Ashby Magna 23km (14.5 miles) 10.30am to 1.00pm
Checkpoint 3: Shearsby 34km (21 miles) 12.00 noon to 2.30pm
Checkpoint 4: Foxton Locks 42.5km (26.5 miles) 12.30pm to 4.00pm
Finish: Glooston Village Hall, Andrews Lane, Glooston, Market Harborough, LE16 7SQ - There is a car park at the finish.
Every finisher receives a medal, Sole2Sole Running Ultra marathon Technical T-Shirt, Certificate and a home cooked hot meal at the end of the race.
A GPX files of the exact route is available on request. The file is provisional and will be confirmed as soon as entries close.
The Leicestershire round book is available to buy at the end of the race at a cost of £9.95. This is worth keeping a souvenir especially if you decide to take part in all 3 series to complete the whole Leicestershire 100 mile route.
If the whole 100 mile route is completed over the 3 races then you will also receive the Leicester round badge free of charge.
