This talk will focus on the Natural History of several areas in the Tropics, with particular emphasis on the birdlife of Costa Rica and Borneo. Some mammals, insects and plants will also feature - particularly those with interesting or unusual lifestyles.
Dave spent his career as a Research Chemist in the Pharmaceutical Industry. From a very early age he has been fascinated by all aspects of the natural world - with a particular passion for birds. Retirement has allowed him to dedicate more time to wildlife activities - including related overseas travel, voluntary work with the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and general wildlife surveying and recording. He is a keen amateur photographer, but is not a fan of using heavy and unwieldy cameras! With his particular interest in visiting tropical areas, this talk will focus on the birds and general natural history of Costa Rica and Borneo.
